Question
How are the models, theories, concepts and methodologies discussed in the
workshops, in the discussion board and in the tutorials applicable to your case
study?
Requirement Details:
The aim of the Assessment #2 is to apply the models, theories, concepts and methodologies learned in
the Unit to your case study.
You are required to reflect on and write critically about experiences and ensuing discussions that are
applicable to your case study. You can use the concepts learned during Workshops One and Two, the
discussion board topics, examples or exercises conducted during the tutorials.
You are to explain the links between these personal experiences, the Unit Theory and available
Sustainability Management literature.
As set out in the Marking Rubric you must support your analysis with citations from quality sources
such as peer reviewed journals, government and industry publications.
You must analyze at least 4 separate experiences from the following sources;
• 1 experience from the Workshops,
• 1 experience from a Tutorial
• 1 experience from the discussion board topics
• The last experience is of your choice from the 3 sources above.
If you do not attend one of the workshops or tutorials, you will not be able to reflect upon the insight
you experienced and the available marks for the assignment will be reduced accordingly. Likewise,
non-attendance of both workshops will result in zero marks and nonattendance of one day of one
workshop will result in the available marks being reduced by 25%.
This assignment must be written in the Reflective writing style explained in the SCU Reflective writing Quick Guide.
Collaboration posts via the discussion board:
As part of this assignment, you MUST collaborate with other students through the weekly topics
Forum. The objective is for you to help each other with sources of information and understand the
application of the Unit Theory to real projects.
Each post should be substantial (at least several sentences or a paragraph – a single sentence is
insufficient). It should contain meaningful and relevant information that would potentially be of real
assistance to the other participants. Alternatively, the posts could be reflective or probing of another
post in such a way that it adds value to a previous post via additional relevant information or a new
interpretation.
▪ Posts can share sources of information including official reports, inquiries and examinations
into the original disaster.
▪ Posts can also share useful peer reviewed articles about asset management including
“Sustainability Plan or Strategy” and their implementation.,
▪ Participants can seek to recruit like participants by providing information to attract about a
particular case study to attract other participants.
▪ Another way in which participants can earn marks is to begin the discussion thread.
▪ Yet another valuable contribution is in the form of an intelligent question. Please be aware that
a single sentence question is insufficient. There must be several sentences to frame the
context of the question.
▪ Time will be devoted to making posts in the discussion board at our EMAS classes, so if you
aren’t sure how to do it, simply come to an EMAS class.
▪ Please refer to the marking rubric for detailed grading information.
Resources:
You will have lots of opportunity to seek help to do this assessment in the advanced engineering Class
(EMAS) that is held each Tuesday.

Sustainability Management

Introduction

Sustainable management is the contemporary approach to administering operations of both private and public entities. It offers the intersection between sustainability and business where there is the consideration of managing an entity’s influence on profit, planet, and people in such a way that all the three factors can prosper in the long run. Business entities are shifting from concentrating on their profitability to balancing their operations with the effects that they bring to the community and natural surroundings. For the purpose of this report, the manufacturing area of engineering is selected as the basis of the case study. The Perth Mint company is a manufacturing entity that produces and distributes silver, gold coins, and platinum for customers and collectors across the world. The firm has put in place environmental management systems that suppress adverse environmental effects from its operations while simultaneously sustaining its business efficiency and going concern status.

Workshop experience

The first experience is from workshop II and more specifically on the issue of frameworks. In the workshop, it was clear that energy consumption highly influences environmental sustainability in business. Environmentally conscious companies try to conserve energy so that the exploitation of natural resources is minimized (Kammen and Sunter 2016). However, manufacturing plants such as those run by Perth Mint are power intensive, and so it becomes difficult to use little amounts of energy. The management team at the firm is more enthusiastic about using renewable energy which……………………………….To access the rest of the solution for $10, please click on the purchase button.
