Course Reflection Paper

This is one of the semesters that has impacted my career as a nurse, a caregiver as a passion, and humanity as a person. Throughout this semester, the nursing course’s primary objectives revolved around opioid drugs for pain management and how patients overuse these drugs to treat their pains and eventually become addicts to the drugs. From the many types of research I conducted about opioids and pain management, one thing was clear, there is an increased rate of overuse and abuse of opioids, and the question that arose from this whole situation was; What can the nurses or rather a healthcare providers do to curb the abuse of these drugs, and mobilize people on the importance of seeking medical advice on how and when to use these drugs, which have posed a major threat in addiction (Vlaeyen & Crombez, 2020)………………………………….$10
