  • Examine the genres that are intermingled to create the work.

  • Support your point(s) with a statement from the artist and one from a critic.

  • What is the relationship between the work of art and the event?
  • Did the artist depict the event accurately?
  • Does the artist make changes regarding the event? If so, why do you think the artist made these changes?
  • Examine the artist’s message in the depiction.
  • Support your point(s) with a statement from the artist.

Week 8 Discussion: Interdisciplinary Works

The Consecration of the Emperor Napoleon

Napoleon 1 commissioned Jacques Louis David to paint a vast canvas that portrays the Emperor’s Coronation’s splendor while displaying its symbolic and political message. David made an appearance at the event, and on returning to the studio, he presented the congregation with authenticity while joining art with accuracy and including Napoleon’s instructions (Williams, 2018). David achieved the expectations of painting a monumental work that would glorify the event, and ultimately become one of the most significant art pieces in the history of painting. The art is a prime example of a Neoclassicism painting style successful in France in the early 19th and late 18th centuries (Jacobus & Martin, 2019).…………………please follow the link below to purchase the solution at $5
