The population selected is the older males of age 65 years and above from the black American ethnic group. The blacks are a significant ethnic group in the U.S. Individuals from this ethnic group have either complete or incomplete descendent from the black racial classes found in the Africa continent.

The black’s health has been the most disadvantaged over the past decades in the U.S population. One of the significant reasons behind the health disparities among blacks is race discrimination leading to health inequities.
