SOLUTION

I have chosen to research Down syndrome, which is a common prenatal developmental problem caused by a chromosomal abnormality. Down syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, occurs when there is an extra copy of chromosome 21, resulting in a total of three copies instead of the usual two. This additional genetic material disrupts the normal developmental processes, leading to various physical and cognitive characteristics associated with Down syndrome.

The exact cause of Down syndrome is still not fully understood. However, it is believed to be caused by a random error during the formation of the reproductive cells or during early fetal development.
